IPNEWS: Madam Miatta Fahnbulleh, who head the Joint Presidential Transitional Team’s (JPTT) subcommittee on Inauguration, has said that the handling of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s inauguration, was due to inside-trading by key executives of the ruling Unity Party.

Madam Fahnbulleh clarified that she did not manage the approved inaugural budget, but was just a mere chairperson on paper.

Aunty Miatta as she is affectionately known, claimed that though she was appointed to head the sub-committee, the committee was never in control of any budget from the government for the sole purpose of the transition ceremony.

Speaking to reporters Thursday, January 25, she noted that it is unfair for some members of the 55th Legislature and other citizens to shift blame on her and her team for the poor management of the inauguration program.

She further alleged that her proposal sent to both the General Services Agency and the Legislature for the usage of the pavilion was never welcomed.

Meanwhile, Madam Fahnbulleh has apologized to Liberians for the unfortunate situation that occurred during the inauguration ceremony.
