Deputy Speaker, J. Fonati Koffa Sympathizes With Families Of CDC Accident Victims

–Seeks God’s Mercy for Bereaved Families

IPNEWS: The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Cllr. Jonathan Fonati Koffa has expressed sincere sympathy to the families and friends of the three members of the Girls for Weah Auxiliary Group, who lost their lives last week at the Kakata-Gbarnga Highway en route to participate in political activities of the Congress of Democratic Change (CDC).

On his FaceBook page, the Deputy Speaker who is also a Representative of Grand Kru County District #2 craved for the Almighty to grant the families and friends of the deceased girls strength, and further prayed for speedy recovery of the survivors currently at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia.

The Office of the Deputy Speaker also extends condolences to the CDC for the tragic loss of our partisans as we all keep solace in the Lord.

Last week, President George Manneh Weah expressed his deepest condolences to the families of three members of the Girls for Weah auxiliary who lost their lives on August 22, 2023, in Bong County due to a terrible motor vehicle accident.

The Girls for Weah team was on the campaign trail when the three members met their untimely deaths, according to a release signed by Mr. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, CDC National Campaign Manager.

The statement stated that President Weah had called on all supporters of the CDC and Liberians, in general, to join him in praying for the families as they deal with this difficult loss and for the souls of the three faithfully depart to rest in perfect peace.

The release further called all supporters to join the President in praying for the speedy recovery of all team members who sustained injuries.

“In the wake of this tragedy, the President is suspending his campaign for two days effective immediately, and he is returning to Monrovia tonight to mourn this terrible loss.”

“We call on all his supporters and Liberians to join the President in mourning the lost lives at the Headquarters of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in Congo Town.” the release indicated.
