IPNEWS-Grand Bassa: Former Grand Bassa County District #4 Representative and Team Cunnings Grand Bassa County Chairperson says any attempt for Liberians to elect former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai as President will be the introduction of a disastrous and sleeping government.
According to Mr. Baron Brown, at this critical junction of the country, Liberia does not need a sleeping President who will not prioritize the wellbeing of the citizens.
He says, “Uncle Joe Boakai is one of the oldest and smartest persons, if you tell him hello he will say morning, if he sees woman he will call her man so and you have a country that is infested with lots of corruption and bad people who always want to survive on Government will elect a sleeping President.
“Do you want to elect a man that is very old and do not recognizes people, and don’t take an independent decision any attempt to elect him you will have court that people will only come and Dube this Country, I have come to let you know that Cummings is the Way forward”.
Former lawmaker Brown says Liberia’s problem is not about who has spent 42 years in government or who is the oldest person but what Liberia needs is a person who knows how to manage the affairs of the country the will see the needed transformation .
He says Liberians need a leader who has that corporate leader attributes and “not someone like Boakai who has worked in almost all of the governments and him along with other corrupt past leaders took share of all of the country’s resources therefore, he can never be that agent of change or RESCUE.”
“If you have a village where the only means of living is by setting trap or hunting and you have an old man who is in a wheel chair, the only thing that person can do is to raise a dog and put them among the others dogs so that if they go hunt and kill animal he will be able to have a meat, In my case, I went to Monrovia and I have searched all around and I have seen somebody who will help solve some of the many challenges that our country is going through today and he is Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings”.
The former Grand Bassa County lawmaker spoke over the weekend at a town hall meeting that brought together several citizens from Grand Bassa County both from the Liberty Party, the Alternative National Congress and the CPP leadership of Grand Bassa County.
He is at the same time calling on citizens of Grand Bassa County not to elect A President like Boakai who always sleeps at major programs.
According to former lawmaker Brown if Liberian people need to change the current Administration it should not be people like Boakai and the Unity Party to be the alternative because they all contributed to the suffering of the Liberian people.
Commenting further he also took debate with the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change government, saying “if the Liberian people want to buy a 25kg bad of rice for 4000LRD and pay 1,500LRD from Owens Grove to Monrovia, if you want for your children to have a school without teachers and have a country that people die on the streets and in homes and government doesn’t have time to investigate then vote for Weah.”
Former Grand Bassa County lawmaker lamented that educated people died in this country and there has not been any proper investigation, the hospitals are without medications and schools are without chairs, why children are selling all over the streets than go and if Liberians want to get worse then they can vote Weah. But noted, “If they surely believe that Liberia deserves better than Cummings is the best choice for the Liberian Presidency.”
