In Grand Bassa County: Thousands To Benefit From Pipe Borne Water As Modern Solar Water Project Reaches 95% Completion

IPNEWS: Thousands of residents of Gimmie Town and Big Joe community in New Buchanan are expected to benefit from pipe borne water supply unlike before.

Under the auspices of the Religious Advisor to President George Weah on Islamic Affairs, Ousman Jalloh , with the caption; the modern solar water project is now nearing completion.

During a tour of the facilities on Tuesday April 25, 2023 Advisor Jalloh said they have already constructed three of the water facilities in Buchanan and surrounding communities putting the project at about 95% completion.

Mr. Jalloh who put each of the project cost at $USD 15,000.00 has a duration of about twenty years.

The project which he pointed out is among other things meant to give hope to the people who over the period suffered from safe drinking water will also be constructed in a total of seven communities within the County.

“President Weah cares for his people and is giving them safe drinking water because , water as you know is life ,so he is giving them life”, he added.

Jalloh was quick to point out that the water project cut across all spectrums of the society in spite of religious backgrounds.

According to him, the project is in fulfillment of a commitment made to his people following his travel to Turkey.

“I made a trip to Turkey and I saw this project and thought it wise to bring it back to Liberia to help our people through the partnership and support of the Turkish Jemie Foundation”, he further told the media.

Additionally, there has been some great improvement in the sector under this regime and I am glad and appreciate, President Weah for giving me such an opportunity to serve my people”, Ousman noted.

“I also traveled to England and made a case for my people and there has been a commitment to help put over one thousand five hundred Immas on payroll first of its kind, he disclosed.

At the same time, the happy and potential beneficiaries of the project hailed the religious advisor to the president of Islamic Affairs for the life-saving gesture.

“We are happy about this and this is the first time in our community for us to see such a project and we have been suffering for safe drinking water for a very long time”, they narrated.

Meanwhile, the project which is in fulfillment of a County tour promise made to the people is already benefiting scores of citizens in Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, and Margibi and is currently ongoing in Grand Bassa County and is expected to be extended to other Counties across the Country soon.
