In Lofa County: Cyrus Fills Gaps, Makes Key Interventions In Strategic Sectors

By: Julius Konton

IPNEWS: As the central Government battles competing priorities issues so is local government, especially in people-centered sectors but the assistance from prominent people in the fifteen Counties seems to also be lacking.

However, some kinsmen are trying their best to make interventions to help buttress the government’s effort and one such is Momo Cyrus, a prominent son of Lofa County.

Cyrus, who over the period has been providing some contributions to help in different sectors, has over the weekend re-enforced his support to the County in different and key sectors.

As the County health sector struggles for many essential needs and support for the government hospital, the Son of Lofa in a drive to help address the electricity challenge that the Hospital faces, donated two drums of fuel (150 gallons – equivalent) to the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama City, Lofa County.

According to him, his gesture is just the beginning of more to come for the Hospital to help save the lives of his people.

Also helping his people in other areas and sectors, the Chief Executive Officer of the Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia (SEGAL) Momo Cyrus additionally promise to construct a four-bedroom house for visually impaired people in Voinjama City.

He stressed that his gesture and support for his people cut across all spectrums of society.

The project with the land site already available is expected to begin soon in Voinjama City, while the completion he disclosed will be at the end of July.

” I will turn over the project to my people on my Birthday, August 5, 2023, as my gift to them”, he added.

The Senatorial hopeful who also sees sports as a unifier put smiles on the faces of eight third divisions teams in the County who qualified for the playoff stage of the Liberia Football Association Lofa Sub Committee league when he donated in total, ten sets of jerseys and twenty footballs to the in-form teams of the County.

Cyrus who has been at the center of the Lofa County sports committee and has placed the County on the map of the National County Sports Meet hailed the players for their focused minds and willingness to help improve their individual and collective talents.

Unlike before and since the impressive performance of Lofa County teams in the National County Sports Meet, there has been massive competition in the local leagues within the County, he noted.

“Keep up the good work players and let’s ensure that we put Lofa on the map of sports and we will help to improve infrastructure within the County” he assured the young talents.

Meanwhile, all of the happy beneficiaries of Mr. Cyrus’s gesture commended him for also identifying with them and coming to their needs at the appropriate time.

According to the Chief Medical Officer at the Tellewoyan Hospital Dr. Wilmot Frank, if all of the leaders of Lofa can emulate the good examples of Momo Cyrus, the County, and health sector will be good.

As for the sporting sector, the local officials and players all appreciated Mr. Cyrus for always supporting them thereby motivating them to do more.
