IPNEWS-Monrovia: The political pressure, advocacy and activism group, the Green Revolution of Liberia, under the chairmanship of National Gladiator, Varney Manja Gbassey Kromah has launched what it calls “The People’s Power” campaign to encourage Liberians from all walks of life to turn out in the numbers and registered for the pending October 2023 presidential and legislative elections.
In a statement issued in Monrovia on Monday, March 20, 2023 by National Chairman and Gladiator Varney Manja Gbassey Kromah, the group called on first time voters, the downtrodden masses of the country and every Liberia of voting age of 18 and above to embrace the Biometric Voters’ Registration exercise and get registered to constitutionally grant themselves the right to exercise their respective civil liberties come the October’s polls.
The Green Revolution says it will religiously follow the process which kicked off as per the calendar of events of the National Election Commission, which sets March 20, 2023 as the kick off date affecting six political counties including Montserrado, Bomi, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Grand Bassa and Margibi counties and will end on April 9, 2023.
As we embank on this National endeavor, the green Revolution of Liberia hereby lunch Operations ” The People’s Power” which encourage our people to turn out in Mass and have themselves registration starting March 2023. This process is also into three categories;
The group stated that under its “The People’s Power” campaign, they will focus on community voters education awareness, ensuring that voters are at various sites and documentation of voters as per their engagement.
The Green revolutionary of Liberia says it will operate as per the eight (8) counties were they have working structures as follows, including Montserrado county, Grand Bassa County, Grand Cape Mount County, Bomi County, Bong County, Maryland County, Gbarpolu County and Nimba County.
“Our engagement will be chaired by our various county chair persons in consultation with a member designated by the central command to direct, regulate and coordinate their operations.
As our county leadership concluded surveying all districts in their respective counties using the last 2020 NEC midterm elections demography to identify voter registration centers per district in the county.
All county structures in consonant with central command leader who is been assigned, these structures will visit communities on a Jehovah Witness endeavor targeting Montserrado, Grand Bassa, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi and Gbarpolu respectively, informing voters the importance of elections, the right of every citizen to participate in the process and why it’s very important and rewarding to elect a government in your interest.”
The Green Revolution of Liberia noted that between March 20 to 30, 2023, their structures are to ensure that targeted citizens are fully registered and documented. It stated that April 1 to 5, 2023 all structures reports are to be in for review and if the need be central command to do a sweeping visitation.
Commenting on Phase Two of the Biometric Voters’ Registration that starts from April 3 to 7, 2023, the Green Revolution says in Maryland, Bong and Nimba counties respectively they will survey the various districts using the last 2020 NEC midterm elections demography to identify possible voter registration centers per district in the county.
Starting April 8 to 19, 2023 the committee will visit communities on a Jehovah Witness endeavor targeting Bong and Maryland and Nimba counties respectively, informing voters the importance of elections, the right of every citizen to participate in the process and why it’s very important.
“Between April 21 to May 5,2023, the committee are to ensure that all targeted citizens are engaged and fully registered and documented.
By May 5 to 7, 2023 all communities reports are to be in for review and if the need be central command to do a sweeping visitation.
