Prosecution 3rd Witness Displays CCTV Footage in Alleged Murder Trial

Judge Roosevelt Willie of Criminal Court “A” continues the hearing into the alleged murder trial of the late Fatu Blasuah, who was allegedly killed in the Chicken Soup Factory community. On Tuesday February 21, 2023 Prosecution 3rd Witness, Raffell A.B Wilson of the Liberia National Police Crime Services Department displayed a CCTV footage that reportedly linked the defendant to the alleged crime.

Witness Wilson told the court and jury that the CCTV footage that reportedly linked defendant Kaiser to the murder of the deceased, was mounted at one of the several factories is the Biscuit Factory area adjacent the Chicken Soup Factory community for security purposes. The CCTV footage displayed the defendant and the deceased walking on the path that leads to the very vicinity where the deceased body was discovered.

The CCTV footage displayed exactly what police officer Wilson told the court regarding what transpired before the deceased was found dead in the zinc shack in the Chicken Soup Factory Company.

Before the CCTV footage was displayed in the court, the Defense Counsel requested the court that the defender be brought to view the footage along with Prosecution and Defense Counsel since indeed the Defense Counsel was not furnished with the footage prior to the 3rd prosecution witness taking the stand. Following the defense counsel request, Judge Willie granted the request which allowed the defendant to leave the dock and sit within the vicinity of the court along with his lawyers and prosecution to view the footage.

Continuing his testimony, witness Wilson informed the court that on May 16, 2022 the Liberia National Police received information in relation to the death of a female. He said the Crime Services Department of the LNP immediately dispatch a team of investigators to the scene along with Montserrado County Coroner, Mr. Abraham Ricks, and upon arrival they established that the lifeless body of a female who was later identified as Fatu Blasuah lying under a table in pool of blood with multiple of wounds on her within a Zinc Shack located in the LPRC compound in the Chicken Soup Factory community.

Witness Wilson told that Court that the County Coroner including LNP Investigator did physical inspection of the body and discovered that she had on her a cell phone and an earphone, and they discovered a green handled knife that was placed at her back of her trouser. He said the team also discovered that the deceased was wearing a colorful Jean jacket with a blouse believed to be connected to her pink under clothes.  Witness Wilson then said the investigators interviewed the deceased mother who was also on the scene as well as other persons who they met there.

According to Witness Wilson, during their investigation it was revealed that deceased Fatu and defendant Kaiser had a relationship like they were lovers.

He informed the court that they discovered on May 15, 2022 at 3:45 pm, the defendant placed a call to Fatu (now deceased), and they both appeared within the corridor of the industrial complex specifically.  He said the Defendant came from the direction of shoes factory, while the deceased came from the Gulf fencing the Sethi Brothers Steel factory, it was established from 3:45 pm she took about 15 minutes to reach the defendant at 4:02pm, they both met each other, and they began to walk the direction from where he came from. After seven to 8 minutes, they could not be seen.

Witness Wilson then revealed that it was established that the deceased and the defendant went to the defendant’s Aunt House, Mrs. Russ within the Shoes Factory Community where they remained until at 7:00om, when they were seen in the industrial complex again.

Witness Wilson informed the court that it was also established that the defendant and deceased met on May15, 2022 at about 4:00, walking very close side by side until about 7:00 when they appeared in the industrial complex with the deceased walking ahead while he was behind her leading to the makeshift zinc shack, the very place the deceased lifeless body was discovered the next day.  The trial continues today, February 22, 2023 at the same venue, the Criminal Court ‘A’ of Judge Roosevelt Willie.
