Rep. Domah Wants Intervention for Fire Victims at Saclepea Health Center

Representative Roger Domah of Nimba County Electoral District seven has called for swiftly intervention at the Saclepea Health Center following a fire incident.

A fire incident took place last week Wednesday February 15, 2023, and destroyed the residence doctors’ quarter.

The Saclepea Health Center is located in Nimba County Electoral District seven currently represented by the lawmaker.

Representative Domah lamented the incident and is appealing to the Ministry of Health and partners to quickly intervene for the doctors.

“Those who have been taking care of our health delivery system in our district are now under serious stress as a result of the burning of their residence. We have made contacts with the Ministry of Health and the Nimba Legislative caucus to see how all of us can intervene. We want to thank the boss of CHESS Liberia who have provided temporary home for the doctors to reside until further decisions can be made,” Rep. Domah said.

The Saclepea Health Center has a catchment area of over 60,000 and has a huge patients intake daily.

Rep. Domah has meanwhile lauded the citizens of Nimba, Legislative caucus including the County Health Team for reaching out to the victims and the health Center during this critical period.

“We are appealing to the Ministry of Health to ensure that there is quick intervention because if the doctors who are supposed to take care of patients are in distress; that means the health delivery system is in disarray. We are also appealing for replacement of gadgets or equipment they have been working with. I understand all their clothes left in the fire,” he added.
