Judiciary Staff Association Gets New Leadership Monrovia

IPNEWS – The Judiciary Staff Association (JSA) Friday, February 3, inducted into offices new corps of officials.

Ms. Alice Sirleaf, head of the Jury Management Division becomes the first female president. She was inducted along with four males from various divisions of the Judiciary.

They have been charged to steer the affairs of JSA for the next two terms.

Before she had inducted the new officers into offices, Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Youh said as Chief Justice she did not come to dismiss anyone from their job. She told that she looks up all employees of the Judiciary to work hard and take their jobs seriously.

Also included in the induction ceremony, which was held on Friday, was the presentation of six brand new motorcycles to six of the 15 counties’ coordinators of the Judiciary Staff Association. Those inducted alongside Cllr Sirleaf were Atty Francis Gray, Vice President, Alvin Tolbert Secretary, Octavious Klah, Financial Secretary and Teta Pulano, Montserrado County Coordinator.

In her message following their induction by Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Youh, Cllr. Sirleaf lauded her colleagues for the confidence they have reposed in them; adding: “This victory belongs to you.”

The JSA new president showered praises on her predecessor, Cllr. D. Ambrose Nmah for his farsighted vision that led to the establishment of JSA in the last five years indicating that the association membership have grown from 100 in the past to about 1000 member at present.

She stated that JSA has initiated a loan scheme that is currently benefitting up to 300 of its members in the employ of the Judiciary.

According to the JSA President, under her watch she will continue to identify with its members when they celebrate or grief. “We will continue our capacity building process by empowering our members with internal and external opportunities”.
