IPNEWS: The political leader of the opposition Vision for Liberia Transformation Party (VOLT) Dr. Jeremiah Whapoe believes that the poor electoral decision of Liberians during the 2017 elections is responsible for the crippled prosperity of Liberia advancement.
Dr. Whapoe noted that the coming of President George Weah to the Liberian presidency is a very big mistake that is responsible for the bad suffering of Liberians, something he urged Liberians to correct in 2023.
He narrated that the 2023 election is a comeback for all Liberians to correct their wrongs and rewrite the history of the country because Liberia is suffering from serious leadership issues.
According to him, Liberians themselves invoked the wrath of suffering when they decided to vote ‘an irresponsible and careless leader’ like President George Weah.
Addressing score of citizens over the weekend in Grand Bassa County at the Wise People Intellectual Center on Tubman Street, in District #3 Grand Bassa County, Dr. Whapoe noted that Liberians repeated serious historical error when they sang to President Weah that “he knows book or not they will vote for him”.
“You are now seeing the consequences of your decision. Liberians repeated historical error when they told President Weah that you know book, you don’t know book, I will vote for you. We are seeing the consequences of that decision around here will the numerous lies and deception around us today” Dr. Whapoe noted.
The opposition politician lamented that Liberia leadership crisis is getting worst on a daily basis because they have a president who uses his eyes to see instead of his heart, something he described as the best leadership style to see beyond the ordinary.
He believes that President Weah is a complete contradiction of a leader because a truth leader doesn’t see with his eyes, rather his heart.
He explained that when a leader uses his heart to see and provides services for his people, he provides that seriously beyond the ordinary imagination.
“When you are a leader you don’t use your eyes to see because your eyes have limitations. We see this concept far from this deception President we have. He is not using his mind that is why he can’t see beyond. President Weah is far from being a people’s leader because he is not using his mind to see rather his eyes.”
Dr. Whapoe indicated that President Weah is using his eyes to see that is why he usually doesn’t see the reality on the grounds when there is no food and security protection in the country.
Meanwhile, Dr. Whapoe said that Liberia problem is not just roads connectivity, infrastructure and corruption but it’s due to “our inability as a nation to put food on our tables.”
He disclosed that when a country can’t feed itself it will become slave and subject to the other countries because they are controlling our stomach therefore, our decision will also.
