IPNEWS: The political leader of the main opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) by extension the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) says after years in office President Weah continues to shift blame for his failures.
Mr. Alexander Cummings said President Weah Claimed he is fixing what the past governments spoiled, certainly, the past government paved the Monrovia-Ganta Highway, and repaved the Roberts International Airfield (RIA) highway that President Weah and his cronies have turned into a death trap by giving a bogus contract to a company without proper vetting.
The CPP Political leader added that the past government secured funds for the Gbarnga -Voinjama road that President Weah has failed to complete in five years.
He said President Weah was a good footballer, but he is a ‘Fecee’ (not up to the task in Liberian parlance) President; he has not led, cannot lead and will not lead.
The ANC head narrated that President Weah has spent five years playing around like a small boy while Liberians are suffering, adding, “he is a mistake we must correct to end the suffering of the Liberian people because the Bible rightly prophesied that the people will perish when their leaders have no vision – when the leader like President Weah does not know what he is doing or supposed to be doing.”
He added that “recently and irresponsibly President Weah left the country for 48 days and wasted the country’s money jumping from place to place, watching his son playing football and enjoying himself and came back to his ‘Miami’ with lies and pictures for his Facebook.”
“My people the world is laughing at us and will continue to laugh at us and take us for joke because we have a President who doesn’t have the Country at heart, if we have a President who thinks the job of President da play-play thing”.
He mentioned that “while invest in a Country with a play-play leader who is doing nothing to stop stealing from the people because he himself is stealing or benefitting from the stealing of the Liberian people money.”
“We have to stop fooling ourselves and stop letting President Weah get away with fooling us time and time again, the Presidency is for serious people who know what they are doing, the Presidency is too important to all our lives to have it placed on the hands of someone so irresponsible, indiscipline, incompetent and unfit to lead a home or a business”.
Cummings at the same time said, “the United States is Liberia’s historical and traditional friend and ally, on coming to office a new Liberia President traditionally gets an invitation to pay a visit to the U.S and come back with commitment for aid and development assistance, if that stay in office more than two years without receiving an invitation than something is wrong.”
He said it is against this backdrop that he wishes to thank the Liberian people again for their courage and bravery to turnout as the they did on last Saturday and he knows it took serious courage, defiance and bravery to turnout on December 17, 2022, at the SKD “we thank you and those who wanted to but could not, for the impressive show of support”.
Cummings said the SKD was the place President Weah made his false promises to “Change for Hope,” he did not want the Liberian people to remind him by going there, but we did, we went there because in five years the only change President Weah has delivered is from hope to hopeless, from stealing to more stealing and from suffering to more suffering”
He told a news Conference on Thursday, December 22. 2022 that “Liberians cannot continue to be strangers and beggars in their own Country, Liberians cannot continue to be so poor in a country that is rich, leaders of our country cannot continue to be corrupt and uncaring.”
