Liberia: Jeety Receives LRA’s ‘Real Property-Commercial Highest Taxpayer’s’ Award for 2020/2021

Dr. (LHD) Upjit Singh Sachdeva, CEO of Jeety Conglomerate, including Jeety Trading Corporation and Jeety Rubber Liberia Limited, has been recognized as the highest taxpayer for the fiscal year 2020/2021.

In a letter of congratulations to Mr. Sachdeva, who is more commonly known in Liberia as “Mr. Jeety”, the Liberian Revenue Authority (LRA) Commissioner for Domestic Taxes Department, Mr. Darlington Y. Talery, said “We are delighted to inform you of your selection to be awarded ‘Highest Contributor Commercial Real Property for the Fiscal Year 2019/2020. Congratulation!’”

Even though the letter to Mr. Jeety said he was being honored for fiscal year 2019/2020, but the award reads 2020/2021.

The honoring program is an annual event targeted at improving the culture of tax compliance through honoring and recognizing Liberia’s valuable taxpayers for the enormous contributions to Domestic Revenue Mobilization and consequently, the development of “Mama” Liberia, the LRA says.

Mr. Jeety himself couldn’t be there to receive his awarded; but two of his representatives were present and received the award.

Inscription on the plague reads: “Jeety Trading Corporation Highest Contributor Real Property-Commercial Taxpayer Appreciation Award 2020/2021.” Ceremony was held at the Ellen Johnson Ministerial Complex on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
