Sister Aid LIberia, WOMEN’s TV Liberia Sign Contract to Promote Women’s Political Participation
IPNEWS-Monrovia: The Management of A-Mu-Wlu Communication Inc., Owner of WOMEN’s TV-Liberia on Wednesday November 30, 2022 signed a service contract with Sister Aid LIberia to promote women political participation and governance through the production and airing of jingles, radio dramas and talk shows, a press statement says.
With Support from UN Women and funding from Irish Aid, this project will ensure Female Aspirants are afforded the opportunity to engage with their constituents and discuss issues pertaining to national development via the radio.
It will also ensure grassroots women, peace hub women and women in cross border trade participate in national decision making through the airing of special messages on women in leadership.
The targeted counties include: Montserrado, Nimba, Bomi, Lofa and Margibi respectively.
Sister Aid LIberia Executive Director, Miatta Darwolor admonished WOMEN’s TV-LIBERIA to foster stronger collaboration with their organization to further advance advocacy for women in decision making in the country. Miatta expressed optimism that the project will yield fruits as per its role on women political participation.
On her Part, WOMEN’s TV-LIBERIA CEO, Lisa Diasay lauded Sister Aid LIberia for the opportunity to implement such a key role on amplifying the voices of women. Lisa said the project is kicking off at a critical point when the Country is gearing up for elections. “The Media has a pivotal role to play in ensuring women and other marginalized populations have equal access to information and platforms to talk about their issues, we are glad to take on this project”, WOMEN’s TV-LIBERIA CEO noted.
