IPNEWS: The Liberia National Police (LNP) has launched an investigation into a complaint filed by a Liberian diplomat, Ambassador Osman Dukuly against his biological sister, Ms. Bindu F. Dukuly, for allegedly and “unilaterally” leasing their family house to a foreign doctor without their concern.
On Tuesday, November 15, the former Liberia Ambassador to Sierra Leone lodged his complaint to officers at the LNP’s Ashmun Street Depot. In his written communication, he said that their property on Payne Avenue, Sinkor was leased to a foreign doctor by his sister Ms. Dukuly without the knowledge of the rest of the family, including himself.
“I was sharing a house on Payne Avenue, Sinkor with my sister Ms. Dukuly and three others until I heard about two years ago that my sister had ordered the house broken down without my knowledge and consent,’’ he stated in his complaint.
He narrated that he had lived in the house for a few years and was forced to move out one morning in April 1977. He didn’t state why he moved out of the house nearly 45 years ago.
Amb. Dukuly also noted that their younger brother then moved into the house and stayed there until his death a few years later.
He further indicated that his sister, Ms. Dukuly later moved into the house and was allegedly seen with a ‘medicine’ man digging up medicine from the back of the yard that she planted while leaving.
He added that she also allegedly leased the house to a foreign doctor, stating that he knew nothing about the lease agreement nor the amount of rent paid to her.
“In view of the foregoing, I request the Liberia National Police to investigate my complaint under the laws of Liberia,’’ he concluded. By Taisiah K. Merfee
