IPNEWS-Monrovia: At least thirty people in Grand Kru County have benefited from the Ministry of Health free eye surgery program initiated by the County Health Team. The County Health Team Eye Supervisor Samantha Dukuly expressed excitement over the willingness of people with eyes problem for the massive turnout during the exercise within the county.
Making the disclosure to IPNEWS correspondent on Tuesday in Barclayville, the County’s eyes specialist said the free eye surgery program has brought significant relief to people who had suffered eye problems for a long period of time.
The initiative is being supported by Sight Civil, including other health partners. Madam Dukuly said, since the exercise was launched her department, through the Grand Kru County Health Team is yet to receive any negative complaints from the beneficiaries of the program.
The eye health Supervisor is encouraging citizens with such health impediment to take advantage and make significant use of the Eye Clinic in the county for treatment. Some of those eyes diseases that were treated include Refractive errors, Cataract, Diabetic Retinopathy among others.
Meanwhile, the County’s Eye Supervisor has revealed plans to dispatch a team to Doeswen in Bolloh District to provide eye care to citizens in that part of the County. Writes Fedrick Kaydiplah Kumeh in Barclay, Grand Kru County
