IPNEWS: It’s been three years since the authoritative Independent Probe forged a partnership with the free press for the elevation of sustenance of Liberia’s democratic gains.

The Independent Probe newspaper, which is now widely known as “Breaking News”, started off with an idea in 2017 by Chester Allen Smith as its first Managing Editor, now Chief Executive Officer, MOLIXIUM VENTURES INCORPORATED, following the incorporation of two other business ventures, such as VENUS Sanitation and Konweh Farmers.

From its initial ideal nature and supported by businessman Eric Hage, the Independent Probe started with daily SMS messages on major new happenings in Liberia and was later elevated to providing news content on various social media.

In 2019, the Independent Probe newspaper, started first with text messages on major news events and developed a social media blog under the same name and provided timely and accurate ‘breaking news’ which captured the admiration of many readers. By 2020, the Independent Probe newspaper, with support of Mr. Karl R. Smith, one Independent Probe newspaper constant reader, developed and built the official website of the newspaper, in widening its readership from a blog of 200 readers a month, into at least 100,000 viewers and readers every quarter.

In the spring of 2019, the Independent Probe newspaper, began its first publication amidst challenges and suffered a decline.

In 2020, March, with the support of some wonderful board members and readers, the newspaper resumed its publication once a week. By the Dry Season of 2020, a soft grant from the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA), the Independent Probe newspaper, in partnership with the Liberian Media Center (LMC), trained 20 journalists in Investigative Reporting, which has greatly accelerated its capacity to conduct and finalize investigative stories and alerts in the confines of Accuracy, Balanced and Clarity.

Since March 2020, the Independent Probe newspaper has gravitated from once a week to three times a week amidst several challenges, especially availability to harness advertisement.

Currently, the Independent Probe newspaper, with its offices now at the intersection of West Benson Street and UN Drive, has some of the crèmes de la crèmes of the Liberian Journalism Community can ever count on.

As the Independent Probe celebrates three years of active and uninterrupted provision of accurate, balanced and clarity of news and other reports, the Management of the Independent Probe newspaper, has outlined series of activities to make the anniversary a success.

On Saturday, October 29, 2022, the Probers, in partnership with a local grassroots organization “The Class”, a group of youthful and middle-aged residents of the Rock Hill Community, Ducor, along with some of the elders of Ducor Community, conducted a community cleanup exercise. The day was interspersed by games and refreshment.

Mr. Wesley Miller, alias “Brother Boy” who heads the “The Class,” said it was a pleasure to team up with the Probers (IPNEWS) family to carry out the clean-up exercise as part of activities leading to the celebration of IPNEWS’ 3rd Anniversary.

Mr. Miller noted that such community engagement carried out by IPNEWS Family is a clear manifestation of unity in the community as well as bringing together residents in harmony, as the media remains a strong partner to championing democracy and freedom of speech, as demonstrated by IPNEWS through its publications.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, November 5, 2022, the Management and staff, of the authoritative Independent Probe newspaper, will worship with the Providence Baptist Church at the corners of Ashmun, Broad and Center Streets, in giving the Creator thanks and praises for sustaining the Probers.
