LRA CG Wants Jobs For Challenged Citizens

IPNEWS: The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) Commissioner General is calling for the provision of job and other opportunities for members of the disabled community.

Mr. Thomas Doe Nah said physically challenged and especially visually impaired Liberians deserve opportunities just as any other Liberian.

Commissioner General Nah made the remarks recently at the headquarters of the Christian Association of the Blind (CAB) when he served as keynote speaker at programs marking this year’s World White Cane Safety Day.

The LRA currently has people with some form of disability in its employ and remains committed to hiring citizens who are physically challenged including the visually impaired, the CG informed his audience.

In remarks, Beyan Kota, Head of CAB, thanked the Commissioner General for honoring their invitation to serve as keynote speaker.

He termed Mr. Thomas Doe Nah as a strategic partner in helping visually impaired Liberians reach their potential.

 Meanwhile, the LRA boss toured the garden at CAB facility and lauded the organization for involving in agricultural activities to grow food to support kids living at the facility.

 White Cane Safety Day is a global observance that celebrates the achievements of people who are visually impaired. It was first celebrated on October 15 in 1964 in the United States.
