LACC, SIERRA LEONE ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION COLLABORATE ON HIGH-LEVEL CORRUPTION RISK ASSESSMENT TRAINING

IPNEWS: The Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-corruption Commission has praised Sierra Leone anti-corruption Commission (SL-ACC) for seconding a senior manager to the support capacity building in the area of corruption risk assessment.

Speaking at a local hotel at the start of training for LACC corruption prevention officers under the supervision of the Sierra Leone Anti-corruption Commission, Cllr. Martin said regional integration in the fight against corruption is cardinal.

He said LACC will not succeed in fighting corruption without the support of regional partners like his colleagues in Sierra Leone under the leadership of Francis Ben Kaifala

He praised the support of partners and encouraged staff to stay the course and remain strong in the performance of their responsibility to the Liberian people.

The training program is being facilitated by the Head of Corruption Prevention at the SL-ACC Samuel Marrah.

Making remarks at the start of the Training, Mr. Marrah praised the work of the Liberia Anti-corruption Commission and said he was happy to represent the Executive Chairman of the Sierra Leone Anti-corruption Commission Mr. Francis Ben Kaifala 

Mr. Marrahs told the participants that fighting corruption is a difficult task throughout the world. He said the SL-ACC will continue to open its doors to assist other anti-corruption bodies in West Africa and rest of the continent in reducing incidents of fraud in the Country. 

The training brings together the Liberia National Police, Financial Intelligence Unit, and the General Auditing Commission. 

The training is sponsored by the African Development Bank through the Integrated Public Financial Management Reform Program, IPFMRP. The program support public institutions to increase public accountability and transparency throughout the government. The LACC is among several institutions supported by the program.
