IPNEWS: The former ruling National Patriotic Party (NPP), and a constituent political Party of the Coalition for Democratic Change will hold its 7th Biennial Convention beginning October 7-8, 2022, at the Paynesville City Hall, Montserrado County.
According to organizers of the Convention, NPP will elect officers for the next four years tenure including the National Chairman, Vice National Chairs, and National Treasurer
According to a press release from the party and signed by its National Secretary, James Peter, the event will take into consideration, among other things, review achievements, works, programs and formulating new policies, reviewing financial and audit reports as well as reviewing administrative matters and the state of affairs of the Party.
The itinerary for the convention states that the convention will begin at 8 am with a grand parade and an indoor opening session and a subsequent General Assembly (Plenary Session, Reports).
Further, the release notes that on Saturday, October 8, 2023, the session will continue with the arrival and accreditation of delegates taking place between 7 am and 8 am and the induction of the Election Committee will hold between 11 am to 2 pm and the election of officers, the main purpose of the convention will be held between 2 pm to 3 pm, followed by the announcement of the results by 3 pm and 4 pm.
The report furthermore states that the convention will be looking at priority issues, reporting, and reading of the resolution and delegates depart on Sunday, October 10, 2022.
