LCC President Rev. Dr. Reeves Launches Book on September 29

-Titled: How the Baptist Birthed, Led and Influenced Growth of Christianityโ€™

The president of the Liberia council of churches (LCC) Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr is set to launch his new book titled ‘how the Baptist birthed, led, and influenced the growth of Christianity in Liberia’ on September 29, 2022, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Oldest Congo Town in Monrovia.

In an exclusive interview with Dr. Reeves, at his Providence Baptist Church offices in Monrovia, he said that the title of the book summarizes what the book is about, and it is about the history of the church.

“When you talk about the history of Providence Baptist Church, you cannot talk about the history of Liberia separately from Providence Baptist Church and vice versa, because, Hilary Teage, the pastor of the church at the time was the one involved in the construction of the Declaration of Independence of Liberia,โ€ Rev. Dr. Reeves noted.

He said that the inspiration for writing of the book came at the time of the celebration of the church bicentennial in 2021, when the Lord reminded him to write a history of the church.

Also speaking on the council of churches and general politics Liberia, Dr. Reeves clarified that, he had never been a member of any political party and even now, but his alignment with the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), came as a result of a passionate called made by the standard bearer of MOVEE at the time bade on his work with the church.
