Many of the parents, speaking minutes after the donation, said the gesture was timely at the time they were finding it difficult to have their children in school this year amidst the harsh economic reality.

In response to the cash donation, the general overseer of the church, Rev. Garmonee Eastman Sarkpa, took to Facebook to extol the goodwill of the Public Works minister, for ‘always’ remembering the church.

“Hon. Ruth M. Coker Collins, Public Works Minister, Ministry of Public Works, Republic of Liberia, on behalf of the Chosen Vessel Church Family, of which you are also a member, I am so grateful to the Lord for your contribution of L$100,000.00 or US$667.00 made towards the registrations of students, who and, whose parents were in Service, on Sunday, September 11”.

“Your contribution took place after a powerful and uncompromising message, on the theme: “Lay Hold on Eternal Life,” from the text: 1st Tim. 6:12, which was followed by the 3rd anointing ceremony, for which you highly commended God and the Body of Christ for always remembering your family, the GOL and nation in these critical times”.
