Grand Kru County Students Perform Highly in WASSCE

IPNEWS: Students in Grand Kru County have reportedly performed highly in the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) administered by the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC).

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is a type of standardized test in West Africa. Students who pass the exam receive a certificate confirming their graduation from secondary education. It is administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

As the results of the WASSCE gradually come in Grand Kru County, couples of students have expressed joy over their massive performance, making Grand Kru rank as the second county with a successful pass in the exams.

According to the County Education Officer (CEO), Grand Kru County became the second in rank of the counties that sat in the WASSCE in Liberia.

“The performance of students in Grand Kru County this time is overwhelming that people always used to say, Grand Kru County was not really making good marks in past exams,” said   County Education Officer (CEO) Nuwantie Kamaie

CEO Kamaie named Barclayville Central High School, J. J. Dickson United Methodist High School, PG Wollor High School, Stamford Dennis High School, Garraway Central High School, and Buah Central High School as schools that sat the national exams in Grand Kru County this year.

Meanwhile, the results of the J. J. Dickson United Methodist High School is yet to be established, a situation according to CEO Kamaie, has drawn the attention of his office

The offices of the County and District Education Officers have called on the administration of the J. J. Dickson United Methodist High School to provide clear information surrounding the withholding of WASSCE results of their institution.
