Electricity Demand Increases in Bentol City

– As Superintendent Brandy Joins CDC.

The residents of Bentol City in Montserrado County have asked President George Weah to connect their city to the national power grid.

They demonstrated their actions at the climax of the President’s County tour on Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Bentol City which he had visited as part of his tour of Montserrado County.

According to them, it’s disgusting to see Bentol, which is the capital city of Montserrado, to be lacking basic necessities that make life comfortable.

Speaking at the event, the Montserrado County Superintendent, Ms. Florence Brandy, called on the President to see reasons to have her city electrified.

She said, it’s saddening to see the hydropower dam, from which the electricity that lights up Monrovia and other cities is generated from, is not also lighting up Bentol City, which is in the same district that the hydro is in.

Brandy noted that Bentol City is the most remote city even though it’s the capital of the first county, in which the nation’s capital city, Monrovia, is situated.

Responding, President Weah assured of providing a quick-impact project by installing solar panels and later to be followed by hydroelectricity in and around Bentol.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Ms. Florence Brandy has officially joined the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).

Florence, who claimed to be the longest serving Superintendent, said she came at the right time while the President will be seeking his re-election comes 2023.

“I served as Superintendent for over three years during the former Unity Party regime and was re-appointed in 2018 by President Weah, now I am fully committed to joining the ruling CDC  to work and achieve the President’s goals,” Superintendent Brandy stated.
