“EXHIBIT A HIGH LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM AND COMMITMENT,” BONG JUDGE TELLS FIVE NEWLY ADMITTED ATTORNEYS-AT-LAW

IPNEWS: The Bong County Bar Association has admitted five new members as attorneys-at Law.

They are former UNMIL Radio Reporter Fascia B. Harris, Jeremiah Samuel Dougbo, I, Maria-Salome Smith, Emmanuel N. Reeves, and Paul M. Jackson respectively.

Their admittance is in assonance with a communication issued on July 21, 2022, by the Chief Justice of Liberia, His Honor, Cllr. Francis S. Korkpor, Sr.

The communication explained that the five (5) inductees have attended and graduated from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law and have necessarily met those criteria for their respective admittances.

The Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law is the law school of the University of Liberia in Monrovia, Liberia.

Founded in 1951, it is named after former Chief Justice of the Liberian Supreme Court, Louis Arthur Grimes. The school offers a three-year program leading to the granting of the Bachelor of Laws degree. Publicly supported, it is the only law school in the West African nation.

Administering the oath of admission, His Honor Cllr. J. Boimah Kontoe, assigned judge of the ninth judicial circuit court in Gbarnga, Bong County encouraged the inductees to be committed to their legal profession.

His Honor Cllr. Kontoe urged them to exercise a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties within the local bar association.

“You are going to be a service to your country, not so? And your commitment should start from here [Bong]. It’s true you will practice law and earn money to live a decent live, but your integrity is important” he noted.

“Don’t forsake anyone if that person doesn’t have money when the person rights have been violated. It should be edge on your mind. There are people who are middle income, and they need justice as well” His Honor Cllr. Boima Konte emphasized.

Responding, one of the inductees, Attorney at Law Fascia B. Harris thanked the Supreme Court of Liberia through the Chief Justice of the Republic, His Honor, Cllr. Francis S. Korkpor, Sr. for the leadership role.

She promised to appropriately dispense justice.

“We will serve the right justice as we have already committed ourselves to the legal profession. We believe that this new opportunity provides a platform for us to continue our quest for justice… to continue to fight for the rights of people to make sure that every client [who] comes our way despite their financial standing or position in society, we’re going to serve in line with the rules of the courts and the moral code of conduct to ensure everyone receives justice as much as we are able to provide legal counsel” Attorney Harris vowed before a crowded gathering in Gbarnga.

The Bong County Bar Association is a legal body that seeks to promote access to justice, legal professional ethics, effective administration of justice, and enhance fraternal bond among members and between itself and Bars of foreign countries.
