‘Country Devil’ Takes Hostage Judge, Police Officer, & Inmate in Bong County

—-As Police Launches Investigation into Violence At AMEU Campus

IPNEWS: Police authorities are investigating the ransacking of its Police station by traditional Bush Master commonly known as “Country Devil”.

According to the LNP, the Liberia National Police Station located in Salala, Bong County was yesterday, August 10, 2022, attacked, and ransacked allegedly by some traditional people who brought out the traditional bush Master (Country Devil), due to a land dispute that was being handled by the Court.

The Bush Masters (Country Devil) took along with them a Police officer, an inmate from the withholding cell, and the Judge of the court.

Police have been dispatched in search of the missing persons.

The LNP condemns this unconstitutional act and requests the immediate release of the missing persons.

The LNP urges all citizens and residents to go about their normal businesses as calm has been restored in these areas.

Liberia is a Country of Laws not men, the LNP warns all citizens to desist from any form of violence and respect the rule of law.

In a related development, the Liberia National Police has with immediate effect launched an investigation into disturbances at the African Methodist Episcopal University campus that took place today August 10, 2022, and were allegedly perpetrated by members of the Student Unification Party of the University of Liberia.

Upon the arrival of LNP response team at the AMEU campus, one of the perpetrators in  person of Darius Tweh was arrested and is currently in police custody.

The administration of the Liberia National Police condemns this act of violence and will ensure that justice is served. The act of student base political groups leaving their campuses to create havoc for other citizens is totally unacceptable and barbaric.

The Student Unification Party leadership has been invited to the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police for Crime Services (CSD)  Prince Mulbah at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police, today August 11, 2022, at 0900hrs to answer to allegations levied against them by the African Methodist Episcopal University authorities.

Meanwhile, critics and political pundits say the police is too lackadaisical in dealing with situation involving violence allegedly perpetrated by young people, especially those associated with the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).

A stone throw from the AMEU campus to the LNP headquarters on Capitol hill, the police did not respond to the stone throwing thugs on yesterday but waited until they left before they came to quiet the situation. Now they are inviting SUP leadership on what basis when the video shows just single individuals wearing hoods on their heads throwing stones.

SUP had categorically denied the allegation yesterday stating they have no reason to attach AMEU campus, when the CDC-COP aggressor, Barry was already removed from the student leadership of the student government council and also indicted by the Liberia government for allegedly brutalizing Christopher Walter Sisulu Sivili.

Pundits say those few hand full of thugs who threw stones at the AMEU building may have been planted by people from within the CDC-COP who feel that SUP officials need to be arrested and prosecuted for the July 26 violence, but video footage did not show SUP members participating in any violence on that day but were shown fleeing the stones that were thrown at them by the CDC-COP thugs.
