Jeety Shares Hot, Cooked Meal with Inmates in Kakata Central Prison Ahead of July 26

IPNEWS: Kakata, Margibi Co. – As if they had already been informed that a package containing food items was on the way, the inmates, 177, exploded in jubilation from behind their prison bars as the Indian businessman, Upjit S. Sachdeva, popularly known as ‘Jeety’ and his entourage arrived on the Prison compound.

The inmates’ beamed with smiles as the consignment of food items were being offloaded from the vehicle that conveyed them.

The consignment contained assorted food items included huge tubs of cooked rice, buckets of tasty cooked bean, sacs of soda and several cartons of baked cake.

In presenting the consignment of food, the Indian businessman and philanthropist, said nothing gives him joy than extending a helping hand to people that are indigent.

“As I have said, don’t give to get, give to inspire others,” Mr. Sachdeva, who is the former Honorary Consul General of India, said.

On noticing that the prison compound does not have electricity, Jeety amidst applauds, promised to electrify the compound and donate a generator as an alternative source of power during the outage of public electricity.

Receiving the consignment of food, the Kakata Prison Superintendent, Major Nelson Weah, thanked the Indian businessman for his magnanimity. Major Weah particularly thanked Jetty for his plan to electrify the Prison Compound. “Light is security,” Major Weah noted.

The Indian philanthropist’s food feeding program is also extended to disadvantaged young men and women popularly known as Zogoes.
