Monrovia: The Management and staff of Ecobank Liberia Limited have held their second annual thanksgiving service, appreciating God for successful business operations for 2020.
The event, which is the second in succession, is an occasion for offering thanksgiving to God for His guidance and protection of the bank over the past year, and to seek His face for the year ahead (2021).
It was held under the theme, “We have come to return all the Glory to God,” and it was well attended by staff of all branches of the bank in Monrovia and its environs.
It was also interspersed with intermittent prayer sessions and musical interludes from the SDA Church Revelation Choirs that kept the Monrovia Christian Fellowship Church on 9th Street alive from the beginning to the end.
The Managing Director of Ecobank Liberia, Mr. George Mensah-Asante, remarked that the Lord had done a lot for the bank and therefore they had an “obligation to give glory to Him and for His intervention in the bank operation in 2020.”
Mr. Mensah-Asante was emphatic that God has been faithful to the Group in its day-to-day operation every year.
Mr. Mensah-Asante further thanked all his dedicated staff for their support which enabled Ecobank to deliver excellent services to its clients and the nation during the past year.
He said: “We have set this day aside to appreciate God for his provision and guidance throughout 2020. We visited this annual thanksgiving service last year and this is the second that we are doing and we hope to continue.”
For this year, Mr. Mensah-Asante said despite of Covid-19, the management and staff of the bank deemed it faithful “to come and say thanks to God for carrying us through. This is a testimony and appreciation because God has been so gracious to us in keeping us saved. As we celebrate God’s goodness for 2020, there’s only one word and it is “Gratitude.”
He, therefore, applauded each the management and staff by committing them to God again for a fruitful 2021.” We are trusting in you to take care of us this year.”
Rev. Foday Karpeh, Senior Pastor of Life Center Church, who delivered the sermon, commended the management and staff of Ecobank for setting aside time to thank God for His goodness in their business.
He urged them to give thanks to God in spite of all the circumstances.
He told the staff that thanksgiving is a public acknowledgement or celebration of God’s divine goodness. “Today, we have publicly come to celebrate the divine goodness of the Lord in our business during the 2020.”
Rev. Karpeh told Ecobankers that they should not look at their annual thanksgiving as ordinary, adding that it is worthy to give thanks because the Lord is always there for them.
He also asked for the favour of the Lord upon all Ecobankers and prayed that their business should flourish.
