iPNEWS-MONROVIA: The Office of the Honorable Deputy Speaker of the Republic of Liberia wishes to announce that Hon. Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa and his entourage will leave Monrovia for Grand Kru on Thursday afternoon, February 18 to conclude mobilizations with citizens ahead of the President’s visit in the county.
Through mass mobilizations, the Grand Kru County District#2 Representive is expected to encourage constituents to participate in all activities during the three-day’s visit of President George M. Weah in the county.
According to the intineary from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the President will dedicate projects funded by Senate President Pro Tempore Albert Chie, the Deputy Speaker of the 54th Legislature, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa and former Senator Dr. Peter S. Coleman and the Ministry of Agriculture.
On Tuesday, February 23, the President will be received and welcomed by Superintendent Doris Ylatuh and the local authority in Grand Kru.
On Wednesday the President will break grounds for the pavement of Barclayville City Streets , assess the Grand Kru County Service Center and have a town hall meeting at Barclayville City, follow by an interview by all the radio stations.
On the same day, the President will depart Barclayville for Sasstown (home town of his grandmother), where he will meet and greet citizens of Nrokwi, Dayokpo, and other communities.
On Thursday, the President will dedicate the George Tubgbey Worjloh Elementary School funded by Deputy Speaker Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa and also dedicate the Pro Poor Presidential Units in Sasstown and conclude with a town hall meeting.
The combined Grand Kru County team will play host to the President’s All Stars at the Sasstown sports pitch to be climaxed with a dinner.
The President will also tour Sasstown (Down Beach communities) where he owned about five acres of lands from donation from the local authority and people of Sasstown.
There will be performances of war dance after meeting the county authority, elders, the CDC county officials and traditional leaders respectively.
Later, the President departs Sasstown and arrives in Geeken where he will break grounds for a Youth Center in Geeken and dedicate the Geeken Market Funded my GOL/Ministry of Agriculture/ SAPEC.
Thereafter, the President while en route, will dedicate the Buah-Taybu Elementary School funded by the Grand Kru County District #2 Representatative Hon. Cllr. Koffa and the Chengbetee Elementary School in Chegbetee, also funded by the Deputy Speaker Cllr. Koffa.
The President will also dedicate Doeswen Clinic, meets with nurses and then have lunch in Doeswen, which marks the end of the Grand Kru tour by the President and entourage.
Meanwhile, according to the office of the Honorable Deputy Speaker; Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa and his entourage will return to Monrovia immediately after the President visit to begin planning for the 2021 constituency visit during Easter Break where he will visit the 12 traditional communities to have consultative meetings.
The Deputy Speaker’s Easter break visit will be climaxed with a two-day’s educational summit.
A Ghanaian based ICT service provider and contractor on the UAF pilot program that provide rural telephone site to Puluken, will be part of the educational summit to explain its technology which will afford e-learning capabilities for rural schools to address educational challenges.
