LNP GETS CARTER CENTER DONATION

IPNews-Monrovia: The Liberia National Police received a donation of three Desktop computers, Three backup batteries from the Carter Center to be used by the Professional Standards Division, Human Resource Department and the Information Technology Section of the Liberia National Police.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Carter Center on Monday January 25, 2021 at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police, the Leader of TCC Rule of Law program Mr. Saah N‘Tow said the donation is part of Carter Center’s ongoing support to the Liberia National Police through the Police accountability and Citizens Trust project which is intended to increase public confidence in the LNP through improved transparency and accountability.

He further said the project is being implemented in three of LNP’s geographic regions which includes; Region 1(Grand Bassa, Margibi and Rivercess counties), Region 3(Bong, Lofa and Nimba counties) and Monrovia Region which is Montserrado County. He concluded that the items will help expedite the uploading of officers’ information into the new Find Officer application system, while helping to improve computer-related communications, social media utilization and ultimately boast the management of internal efforts to raise officers’ awareness of the complaints and commendations processes.

Also speaking at the ceremony, INL Director Sunshine Ison thanked the Carter Center for the donation and the long time partnership with the Liberia National Police, she further extended thanks and appreciation to the Administration of Liberia National Police for the cooperation in working with the Carter Center for the improvement and betterment of the Institution.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Liberia National Police, Police Inspector General, Patrick Toe Sudue extended heartfelt gratitude to the Carter Center for its continues support and capacity building of the Liberia National Police. Hon. Sudue terms the donation as timely and rewarding. He further lamented that the equipment will be used for its intended purpose at the same time call on other organizations to emulate the good example of the Carter Center.
