IPNews-Nimba County: A woman in her 30s has been stabbed to death by another woman, who is believed to be the girlfriend of the deceased lover. According to eyewitnesses, the incident, which occurred on January 10, 2021, the deceased, identified as Daybah Wongbaye was allegedly killed by her mate in Kparblee Aministritive District, Bewalay Town, Nimba county.
According to reports, Ms. Wongbaye had accused her fiancé, George Fordolo, an informer for the Drug Enforcement Agency’s local detachment in the area, of being in an extra marital affairs with this girl identified as Agnes Mahn
An eye witness narrated to IPNews that on Saturday, January 9, Fordolo went to visit this girlfriend and while there, Ms. Dabah was tipped off that her boyfriend was in Agnes’ home.
“When Dabah heard that her man was at Agnes’ house, she quickly hurried there. When she got there, she entered and began searching Agnes’ house. Agnes told Dabah that her boyfriend was not there,” this eyewitness said.
However, Dabah didn’t listen to Anges and went on looking everywhere until she found her man hiding in Agnes’ room. Following this discovery, a fist fight ensued between the two women. They were pulled apart by community dwellers after they had wrestled for few minutes.
The eye witness further explained: “After Dabah and her fiancé left the scene and went back home, Agnes later followed them with a glass bottle which she allegedly used to severely wound Dabah” another eye witness narrated.
Dabah was rushed to the Yorpea clinic for treatment but was later referred to the Jackson Fiah Doe Memorial Hospital in Tappita where she was pronounced dead by heath workers at the facility.
Meanwhile, the situation sparked serious tension among residents and their reactions led to the destruction of several homes.
Liberia Nation Police officers in Tappita have launched a manhunt for a 40-year old suspect said to be the ring leader.
