Nathaniel Blama Dedicates First School in Boiboimai Town, Voinjama

IPNews-Voinjama,Lofa Co.: Children of Boiboimai Town in Voinjama district are for the first time being exposed to western education following the dedication of a modern school in the town.

Former Executive Director, Environmental Protection Agency, Nathaniel T. Blama, dedicating the school over the weekend stated the construction of the facility which cost about thirty-five thousand United States dollars is his way of giving back to his community and a symbol of gratitude to his parents for instilling the necessary training and education in him.

“Today marks a very important day in the lives of not only me but hundreds of kids who were like me many years ago—trying the hardest to get education.”

” Today I’m grateful that I was able to transform my parents mat-hut into a modern facility that benefits the lives of hundreds of young people in Boiboimai Town.” Mr. Blama stated.

The former EPA boss told IPNews that the facility is eight rooms and is expected to host over three hundred school going kids.

“I built this school in my parent’s home town to give kids [in this town] the opportunity to be national leaders tomorrow.”

” I’m glad that over 300 smart kids from the town and surrounding communities studying from makeshift structures especially during the rainy season will now study in their own Boiboimai Town, with modern facility and electrification and do not have to cross rivers, especially when it is full.”

“I am happy that I could be of a support to the community and pay homage to my late mother. This school will be named in her honor.”

” This school will be turned over to the community, who in turn is expected to turn dedicate it to Government of Liberia.” Blama narrated.

The school facility is fully electrified with solar panels and will accelerate adult literacy classes during evening hours after farming activities.

In gratitude for the first ever modern school facility, and other assistance provided, the chiefs and elders of Boiboimai Town gowned Mr. Nathaniel T. Blama, followed by traditional dances and folk songs.
