Angry Mob chases Rivercess County Senator Dalars Gueh over Refusal to Pay Trucked Voters

IPNews-Monrovia: Following his alleged refusal to settle about 40 residents recently trucked to Rivercess County, to participate in the ongoing voter roll update exercise in River Cess County, Senator Dallas Gueh, has been reportedly chased out the port city of  Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

According to IPNews reporter in Grand Bassa County, Senator Gueh was on Sunday attacked following his alleged refusal to settle about 40 residents he trucked to River Cess County for voter registration.

The states that Senator Gueh allegedly trucked the 40 residents of  Grand Bassa to River Cess County to register in order to vote him during the ensuing mid-term December 8 polls.

A spokesman for the 40 trucked residents of Buchanan City, told IPNEws that  Senator Gueh reportedly promised to provide a compensation of 30 United States dollars each to the 40 persons after doing their voter registration was completed in River Cess County.

Thw spokesman identified as Youjay Jacobs, threaten to make Senator Gueh uncomfortable until he settled them.

It may be recalled, angry mob prevented Senator Gueh vehicle from leaving Buchanan City.

The vehicle was later rescued by officers of the Liberia National  Police, Grand Bassa detachment in Buchanan City.

Speaking on a local radio station in Monrovia (Bana FM) following the clamor, an associate of Senator Gueh, a group championing the reelection of the incumbent Senator, rubbished the claim.

Senator Dallas Gueh  is yet to  respond to IPNews inquory into this alledge trucking and persistent nonesettlement  of voters.

Voters’ trucking and multiple voters’ registrations are now new phenomenon in the Liberian politics especially after the nearly 15 years of civil unrest in the country.

Meanwhile, the National Elections Commission (NEC), commissioner Davidetta Lassana Browne has threatened a legal action against anyone who is caught in either mutiple voters’ registration and trucking.

She described this act as unconstitutional and intended to solely undermine the peace as well as the National Elections Commission, efforts for a transperent electoral process in the country.
