IPNews-Monrovia: The former town chief of Mano Wainsue has accused Liberian deputy speaker Prince Kermue Moye for bad labor practices.

Mano Wainsue, the official home town of deputy speaker Moye, is situated in electoral district #2 in Bong County. It has the catchment population of over 800 inhabitants.

According to Mr. Peter Binda, the town doesn’t benefit from any development without working on DS Moye’s farm.

Binda said, citizens of Mano Wainsue work on deputy Speaker Moye’s farm on every Wednesday for $250 Liberian Dollars; something that contravenes the labor law of Liberia.

Mr. Binda added that their only hand pump in the area has spoiled, but they will have to keep working on the lawmaker’s farm in order to generate money to repair their hand pump.

He records that they previously worked for the construction of the lone town hall in Mano Wainsue years ago.

“We have to work before we can benefit any development from Hon. Prince Moye. We used to work every Wednesday on his farm, and then he will send the materials. It is bad for us” Mr. Peter Binda lamented.

Mr. Binda termed the alleged action of the lawmaker as bad and counterproductive to the growth and development of the town.

He further called on the lawmaker to reframe from this barbaric behavior noting that they don’t deserve such an inhumane treatment just to benefit a mini development.

Deputy speaker Moye has denied involvement in bad labor practices but admitted of people working on his farm to earn something.

Deputy Speaker Prince Kermue Moye was elected in October 2011 by a dauntless force of the Jorquelleh Concern citizens Movement, JCCM. A strong political force that vigorously campaigned in every part of the district, including towns and villages. Deputy Speaker Prince Moye was not very popular in his home town, least to mention the district or the entire county.

As of the election of deputy speaker Moye in 2011, the Jorquelleh Concern Citizens Movement collapsed barely two years in the lower house. Despite the presence of other high profile individuals behind the Jorquelleh Concern Citizens Movement, the benefit of the group and its existence is still found at the deepest bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, a place that no one goes easily.

Deputy speaker Prince K. Moye who was accused in 2017 of rape has also come under another sharp criticism of abandoning the Montah Clan.
The Montah Clan currently has more than 2,500 inhabitants.

According to the official spokesperson of the Montah Clan, Simeone Mulbah the entire clan has not benefited a single major development under the stewardship of deputy speaker Moye.

“The Montah clan lacks health facility, solar panel light initiated by Moye, hand pump, among others” Simeone Mulbah disclosed.

Simeone Mulbah furthered that major towns of the clan are faced with bad road connectivity something they have repeatedly communicated with the district lawmaker but nothing is being done by him to address the situation adding that these conditions have put the lives of residents at complete risk leaving them with no alternative but to ply the disconnected road nearly two hours to seek medication in Mano Wainsue.

In an angry response to the Independent Probe Newspaper, the Media Consultant of DS Moye, Mr. Mohammed Melvin Kwennah through various text messages instructed journalists to go to Samay, Gbenequelleh and Tamayta because there are other opposition stories there.

Earlier, some traditional leaders in electoral district#2 accused DS Moye of not working with them in the district.

The head of the traditional leader, Mr. Bill Kollie, the chief of Gbarnsue clan said “deputy speaker Moye is hijacking our salary and giving our pay to others. He has followed us at the Ministry of Internal Affairs to thwart letters from the ministry to CSA. I am graving. It is very bad. Let him stop” Mr. Kollie cried.
However, deputy Speaker Moye has since denied the allegation stating that he won’t undermine any local leader in his district.

In 2015 while appearing on Truth FM in Monrovia, deputy speakerMoye admitted of signing two blank checks during the nationwide draft petroleum law consultation involving the National Oil Company of Liberia; a missing US 1.2 Million debate and disclaimer saga involving the house of representatives.

By then, Representative Hans Barchue pointed accusing fingers at the financial officers of the house, Representatives Emmanuel Nuquay (Ways and Means chairman) and Prince Moye (Co-chair) of Margibi and Bong counties respectively.

“I signed several blank checks and left them in the care of the comptroller before my departure to the United States of America” Moye confirmed at the time.
Political commentators believe that Moye’s admittance to signing “several blank checks” was a sign of ineptitude on his part and be investigated for the motive behind his action.

Despite these developments, Madam Nancy Moye, his darling wife has also added insult to injury as she is on record of calling Bongese “ungrateful people”. This statement has gone viral and resonated well in the county.

Representative Prince K. Moye, an aspirant in the mid-term senatorial election in Bong County; is also on record for saying it was unnecessary for a sitting legislator to contest for a legislative position while the country is experiencing economic crisis.

During the by-election in 2018 to fill the vacancy created as the result of the election of vice president Jewel-Howard Taylor, Rep. Moye described as “untimely and unnecessary” representative Josiah Marvin Cole’s decision to contest the election. His campaign succeeded as Dr. Henrique Flomo Tokpa defeated Rep. Cole with 27,806 (47.0%) and 20,982 (35.4%), respectively.

“I don’t see the need why my colleague Marvin Cole is contesting the 2018 by-election when he’s aware that the government is challenged financially” Rep. Moye had said.

But two years down the line, Rep. Moye is now already to do what he criticized. Choked on the issue in the county regarding his comments in 2018, he somersaulted that this time around his decision to contest is necessary.

“There is necessary by-election and unnecessary by-election. In 2018 when Marvin Cole was contesting, it was unnecessary, but mine is necessary” Rep. Moye somersaulted.

In retribution, Rep. Josiah Marvin Cole described his colleague’s ambition as dead on arrival and promised to campaign against him as he did in 2018. “I will use his message of by-election against him” he averred.

According to political pundits in the county, the somersaulting by deputy speaker Moye to contest in the December 8 senatorial election has led to some citizens branding him as a greedy politician who is self-centered and makes public statements based on his selfish and ambitious interest.

They said this statement has dented Rep. Prince Moye’s political character in the county and will definitely fight him in the mid-term senatorial election in Bong County.

Thomas Marley, a resident of Gbarnga, said since Rep. Moye got elected in 2011, he has been a catalyst for conflict in the caucus.

John Mulbah, 34, a resident of Samay feels the election message in 2018 will definitely hunt Moye’s senatorial ambition.

Annie Tokpa, 36, of Gbenequelleh, says “Since Moye’s election in the caucus in 2011 up to present, there has been total confusion”.

Meanwhile, report reaching the Independent Probe newspaper says Deputy Speaker Prince Moye, who recently scored “F” in the first quarter of IRRED’s 2019 report for legislators in the country, has written the House of Representatives to be ‘excused’ from his role as Deputy Speaker/Co-presiding Officer to focus on his senatorial bid in the county.

When contacted, the Media consultant in the offices of deputy speaker Moye, Mohammed Melvin Kwennah described the information as false.
