IPNews-Monrovia: As part of efforts to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country, the Monrovia Ducor Lions Club has reached out to two healthcare facilities in Monrovia.
On Tuesday, June 30, 2020, the group donated some assorted items including hands washing drums, soap, clorine, cloras among others to the Slipway and the Soniiwien health centers.
Speaking during the donation, the club’s President, Momo T. Cyrus said that it is Monrovia Docor Lion’s Club own way of buttressing central government efforts in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus in Liberia
“We have come this afternoon to present just a small item to the Slipway clinic that will help you here at the clinic in preventing the spread of the Coronavirus in our country which has brought our economy to its knees. So today are here at one of two clinics that will be benefiting from our goodwill,” Lion Cyrus said.
Lion Cyrus indicated that Lionism is one of the world’s biggest humanitarian organizations that cater to the under privileged and the disabled communities.
He furthered that the club does humanitarian services without thinking of receiving any in return or for any personal interest.
In separate remarks, the two beneficires expressed gratitude to the club for their donation and urged the Monrovia Docor Lion’s Club to do more.
Madam comfort Nyeunfuah stated that at times, they as clinic staff even contribute to buy some items for patients that attend the clinic.
Meanwhile, the Monrovia Docor Lions says it would look at the many challenges faced by the Clinics and do much in addressing them.
