EJA Joins COVI19 Fight Donates Hands-Washing Buckets

IPNews-Monrovia: The Elite June Association (EJA) has joined in the fight against the deadly coronavirus in the country.

Elite June Association (EJA) is a legal sociol group in Liberia comprising of individuals from diverse background with the month of June being their common denominator.

The group, through its humanitarian arm called the June Care Foundation (JCF), over the weekend began the distribution of hands-washing buckets to various communities in and around Monrovia.

Speaking during the distribution of forty (40) hands-washing buckets to two communities, Vai Town, community on the old road and the City of life, Benson street community in Caldwell, the Head of JCF, Henry B. Carter told communities dwellers that it is the group’s own way of buttressing central government efforts in the eradication of coronavirus in the country.

“Thank you for accepting us in your communities. As our country is faced with this health crasis, we have come to identify with you by bringing you some hands-washing buckets to help you continuously wash your hands which is one of the health protocols,” Carter said.

At the same time, the President of the Elite June Association (EJA), Abel B. Sneh called on Liberians not to be in doubt about the existence of the coronavirus but encouraged them to constantly follow health protocols put into place by the government through the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).

“Coronavirus is actually real and it’s very deadly, so let all of us help national government in the fight of this virus. We should not doubt the reality of this virus, even thought it’s not something that we want to accept but let us all accept and follow government regulations in preventing this virus,” Sneh said.

Sneh also expressed gratitude to members and sponsors of the EJA who helped in making the donation process a success and called on them to continue their good work in making EJA second to none in tje country.

For their part, the two communities in separate remarks expressed thanks and appreciation to the group for selecting them out of numerous communities within Monrovia and its environs to do their donation.

Abraham Dukuly, chairman of the vai town community on the old said that though it is a good thing to identify with his community during these period but called on the group not to only come during these kinds of time but should regularly visit these communities so as to impact the lives of the ordinary people.

He aslo appealed to the group to help in the completion of the community only town hall, which accorsing to him would be used for meetings and other community activitives.

“We are very glad to have you in our community during these critical times but we want you to do this visit on a regular basis. We also want you to help us in the completion of the community only town hall which will be used for activities like this instead of standing out here in the open under this hot sun,” Dukuly noted
