‘Fragmented, Fragile & Confused Opposition’ Pres. Weah Brands CPP

IPNews-Monrovia: President George Manneh Weah has branded the Collaborating Political Parties in the opposition as ‘fragmented and fragile’.

Making the assertions yesterday Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in central Monrovia at the Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC) retreat, President Weah said that the CPP collaboration is a ‘house divided against itself that will and cannot stand’.

“They are constantly struggling among themselves about leadership, forming coalitions that are fragmented and fragile. The coalition of the opposition is a house divided and like any other divided house, it cannot and will not stand,” President Weah noted.

The Liberian indicated that while in opposition, the CDC was very peaceful and gave the then ruling Unity party the chance to exercise their mandate for twelve unbroken years.

The CDC political leader and President of Liberia asserted that now the CDC is in power, all the opposition does is to criticize and preach hate messages on social media against his government, adding that there nothing good his government does in the eyes of the oppositions.

He stated that the opposition constantly attacks his government on social media, terming their actions as a diversionary tactics of the CPP who according to him want to be incumbents

“Again in the eyes of the out-cumbents, we the actual incumbents cannot do nothing right. As for us we were a peaceful opposition and gave the ruling party the chance to exercise their mandate for twelve (12) unbroken years. We even agreed to accept an appointment from them to serve as peace ambassador. Now in their time of opposition, their only agenda seems to be harassment and negative criticism,” President Weah stressed.

Meanwhile, the President Weah has called on his fellow partisans, well-wishers and supporters of the CDC to get up with the business of governance and leadership and not allow their focus and determinations to be distracted and diverted with negative elements within the Liberian society.
