“Samuel Tweah Must Resign or be Dismiss”, Sen. Darus Dillon Maintains

IPNews-Monrovia: Montserrado county Senator Darius Dillon is calling for the immediate dismissal of Finance and Development Minister Samuel Tweh, in the wake of a worsening economic condition and go slow by national public sector workers in demand of salary arrears over six –eleven months.

Currently, there are over 72 thousand Civil servants in the country who are claiming a minimum of three months salaries owed them by the government of Liberia.

Senator Dillon stated that Minister Tweh lacks the technical knowhow to change the current economic woes of the country, noting that president George Weah should muster the courage to dismiss his finance minister.

Senator Dillon asserted that it is an irresponsible act on the part of the government to owed civil servants for so long who have worked for several months and having to take care their families .

He wondered what the government has done with revenue generated by the Liberian Revenue Authority, when revenue authorities continued to say all their targets have been met.

At the same time, Senator Dillon has said the closing of school due to the go slow action of teacher is not in the right direction.

The Montserrado lawmaker said it will be pundit for the Government to pay the teachers rather than to close schools.

There have been no immediate word from the Ministry of Finance over this call by Senator Darius Dillon for the resignation of Minister Samuel Tweah.
