Liberian Senate to Initiate Dialogue meetings Between GOL-COP ahead of Dec. 30

IPNews-Monrovia: Gbarpolu County Senator Armah Jallah has disclosed that massive negotiations for a peaceful dialogue between the Liberian government and the Council of Patriot gets underway in Monrovia.

According to Senator Armah Jallah, the Liberian Senate as the house of elders will initiate the plan dialogue meetings through the office of Gbarpolu county Representative with the aim of having balance in the cutting off the ‘December 30’ planned demonstration planned by COP.

It may be recalled, in recent weeks the CoP has called for a massive built up of citizen presence for its planned demonstration scheduled for December 30 seeking the resignation of President Weah under the slogan ‘Weah step down protest’.

Senator Jallah stated that there is a need for the government to negotiate with those he referred to as peaceful citizens who want to protest.

According to the former Senate Pro Tempore’, he intends to speak with some well meaning Liberians to join him in organizing the planned dialogue meetings the government of Liberia and the COP to discuss significant issues contained in their demands as a means of keeping the peace of the country.

He further  stated that  he will this week engage Liberia’s international partners including the Uinted Nations, ECOWAS, AU and other partners to join in organizing such initiative.

Former Senate Pro temp Armah Jallah spoke with Legislative Reporters on the grounds of the Capitol over the weekend.
