Power Struggle Enters CDC Over 3M Loan Syndicate; Is Nathaniel McGill, Jimama Wolokollie , Samuel Tweah In Conspiracy Against Mulbah Morlu (Part 1)

IPNews-Monrovia: While President GEORGE Weah is engaging international partners at the Global Business Forum Africa Summit currently taken place in Dubai, UAE, by informing the world ‘Liberia is ready for business, and its attending massive prospect, his party back home, the governing Coalition for Democratic Change, CDC , is now rocked in a dangerous power struggle.

IPNews is establishing what appears to be a calculated political conspiracy to undermine the functionality and political dignity of the chairman of the Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC) Mulbah K. Morlu.

The syndicate is allegedly being executed by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs; Nathaniel McGill and the Deputy Minister for Small Businesses at the Ministry of Commerce; Jimama Wolokollie, with support of the deputy Minister for Administration, MFDP,  Hon. Rebecca Y. McGill, sister of Minister McGill.

According to information have established a group named Liberians in Support of Democratic Change, ( LSDC) which the CDC Chairman feels is set up on the instruction of Nathaniel McGill, to undermine.

Sources at the CDC hinted IPNews, that the President George Weah in an effort to create jobs opportunity for partisans of the CDC, secured a three million United States Dollars loan through the LBDI for members of the party but interestingly, the amount has been diverted to a group outside of the CDC .

According to sources, the loan scam has caused Cdcians to raise more concerns about the legitimacy of the loan. Many Cdcians spoken to believed that if the money is intended to benefit Cdcians , the money should be channel through the party itself and not a shadow group. The money is being handled by the deputy Minister of Commerce Wolokollie, who is also the head of small businesses at the Ministry of commerce.

Many partisans believed that madam Wolokollie cannot be the head for small businesses at the same time she manages the loan program. ” Conflict of interest is being played here and we sense a cartels of conspiracy involved with this process ,” one Cdcians stated. “The person who is giving us the money will be the same person we will go back to for us to open the business. It is a Mary go round situation. She give us the loan and go back to collect the money from us”, she narrated . Why can the party handle this loan if they are honest to the process? The minister is usurping the function of the party chairman and this is wrong to chairman Morlu. We are told that it is Minister McGill instructions that madam Wolokollie handle this loan program because he wants his fair share of the syndicate,” the aggrieved Cdcians blasted .

When contacted Morlu said he has no idea about how this loan program is working but he has received lots of calls from his partisans asking him about the loan. When quizzed, if he feels undermined about the manner in which the situation was going on, he said he was shocked about the development.

Sadly Most of the attendants during official launch of the new group to undermine Morlu are former members of the CDC who broke ranks and fled to different parties for greener pastures, just like Jemima Wolokolie who refused to serve on a CDC Reconciliation Committee in 2012 on grounds that ‘Weah is not prepared to be president’ , she said.

In a related development, the Minister of Finance Samuel Tweh has openly referred to Minister McGill as the chairman of CDC why Mulbah K Morlu Jr. Is still alive. One may wonder if they have reached a conclusion to sideline Morlu of his chairmanship.

In the wake of these controversies ,county chairpersons of the governing CDC ,are calling for the dissolution of the Liberians in Support of Democratic Change, ( LSDC), and the immediate suspension of Madam Wolokollie for her recent disrespect to the Chairman of the CDC.

It may be recalled, both Wolokollie and Morlu, were rocked in nasty exchanges on social media Facebook, which has created lots of concerns among ordinary Liberians. (courtesy of Freelance Journalist , Charles Yates)
