IPNews-Monrovia: Amidst speculations for the swift return of Liberia’s Lawmakers from their annual Agriculture break as required by law to deliberate and pass on key national issues, lawmakers are demanding President George Weah to make full settlement of their salary arrears before returning.
It may be recalled, Deputy Presidential Spokesman Smith Toby, while appearing on the ‘OK Conversation’, revealed that President George Manneh Weah has requested members of the 54th Legislature to return from their annual legislative break to deliberate on issues of national urgency.
Smith stated that president Weah is requesting a special session slated to run from November 18-December 11, 2019.
But sources in the corridors of the Capitol Building hinted IPNews that high on the president’s agenda for the swift return of the lawmakers back from their Agriculture break is the ‘printing of the new Liberia currency’.
Meanwhile, IPNews has been reliably informed that members of the 54th Legislature have rejected the request by the President Weah to return until their three months salary were paid.
