Addressing a news conference in Monrovia in the Senior Staff conference room of the Liberia National Police, Inspector General Patrick Sudue appreciated the efforts of community residents in assisting the LNP with information that resulted to the confiscation of the aforementioned narcotic substances.

IG Sudue noted that if every community can help the Liberia National Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency with information,, it will help greatly in the fight against drug and abuse which is mostly affecting the youthful population of the country.

Three persons are suspected to be prime dealers of these narcotic substances. Among these three, one of the prime suspects has been arrested and is in the custody of the Liberia National Police undergoing investigation while the other two are being sought after to face the full weight of the law.

The LNP Inspector General further revealed that the narcotic substances were smuggled to the country through a vehicle engine component. He said the dealers placed the narcotic substances in the vehicle’s component as a means of easily smuggling them to the country.

He urged everyone to cooperate with law enforcement officers whom they will encounter that will desire checking their vehicles and their parts. He said such efforts will be aimed at ensuring that no one smuggles narcotic substances to the country under dubious means.

IG Sudue assured that the narcotic substances confiscated will be jointly destroyed by the Liberia National Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency, as it has always been with drugs previously confiscated.
