IPNews-Monrovia: Nimba County District #6 Representative Dorwohn Twain Gleekia has writing the plenary of the House of Representatives, seeking the indulgence of that body to invite Education Minister, to appear before full plenary of the House of Representatives to explain some alarming situation crippling the Liberia Education sector.
According to the Nimba lawmaker, following his ascendancy as Representative of the county, his office worked with the local education authority in his district to identify challenges confronting various schools within his district.
The Nimba lawmaker told reporters, that following the excise, it was established that 875 Liberian dollars through a special mobile money account by the ministry of education by 10th-12th graders while1, 500 Liberia dollars was collected as registration an activities fees and up to present, money paid by students as while 1000 Liberian dollars and others fees that was collected were not captured under the previous mobile money account deposit.
Meanwhile, Representatives Abu Kamara of Electoral District #15 Montserrado County have taken the ‘Oath of Affirmation’ as member of the House of Representatives of the 54th National Legislature.
The induction of Representative Kamara followed the receipt of letter from the National Elections Commission (NEC) stating that he had been duly certificated following the rerun of the by election in district 15 Montserrado county .
The lawmaker was inducted Tuesday during the 47th day sitting of the 2nd session of the House of Representatives by House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers following the reading of NEC communication by chief clerk in keeping with the 1986 Constitution and the House Rules and Procedures.
Marking remarks at the in plenary following his induction as member of the 54th National Legislature, lawmaker Kamara told his colleagues that his victory as Representative of district N0. 15, marked his continuing commitment to the people of district 15 by living up to the confidence reposed in him by the people of district 15 and pledged his commitment to ensuring collective work hobbit for the Liberian people.
For his part, the chairman of the Montserrado county Legislative Caucus Representative Thomas Fallah welcomed Rep. Kamara and prayed that the confidence reposed in him will be manifested.
