CDC Confident of Massive Victory, As Thousands Troop At HQ Daily-George Weah Says

IPNews-Monrovia, Liberia- 8 December-The Standard Bearer and Political leader of the Coalition for Democratic Change or CDC Senator George Manneh Weah says his party is confident of a massive victory come the second round of elections.

Senator Weah, speaking minutes after the Supreme Court ruling on the lifting of writ of Prohibition on the runoff of Presidential following the pronouncement by the National Elections Commission on October 31st, 2017, lauded thousands of Liberians that continued to troop at its headquarters as significant to the desire of total victory by the CDC.

Senator Weah speaking thousands, probably voters who had trooped at his party headquarters in anticipation of a Supreme Court ruling, said he they are trooping because they envisage the CDC to transform their lives of following years of economic degradation

“Today electorate are heading to the Coalition grounds because you believe that here is the only beacon of hope and transformation for you , your children and your children’s future”.

Amid applause, Senator Weah did not twist his words by expressing how proud he is to be the leader of a group of people he describes as common people.

“ My People, today I say to you I am proud to be the leader of a group of people like you my committed people. Some of you, I got to know when you were 12 years old in 2005; today I see some of the same faces after 12 year. I still see some of these faces in the crowd here today. I want to say I am grateful and will always be there for you”.

The people’s man confidently inform partisans of his preparedness of the party to campaign in the same manner like it did in the first round of voting in October 2017.

Amb. Weah  stated that the CDC is fully prepare to admass its partisans across the country  in days when campaign for the runoff were to be announced open.

“The CDC is ready to campaign throughout the length and breadth of the country. We are prepared to launch a vigorous campaign. We will double our efforts in the campaign for a second round victory. What we need is stability for our country so that the younger generation can achieve their dreams. We need new ideas,” he stressed.

Senator Weah and Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai of the governing Unity Party are headed to a runoff following the lifting of prohibition issued on October 31,2017.

In its ruling on Thursday, December 7, 2017, the Supreme Court of Liberia, lifted the prohibition placed on all electoral activities and instructed the National Elections Commission to announce a new schedule date for the runoff poll, which had been earlier slated for 7 November 2017.
