Liberia House of Representative Endorses prayers for Nat’l Healing on Capitol Hill

IPNews-Monrovoa: As part of efforts to eradicate the deadly Coronavirus from Liberia, Members of the 54th Legislature endorsed a proposed decision to converge on Capitol Hill, the official seat of the Liberian Legislature for a day of prayers on behalf of the country on June 2,2020.

The Plenary (the highest decision Making body) of the House of Representatives (HoR) took the decision on Tuesday, following a communication from the National Christian Council of Liberia.

The National Christian Council of Liberia is reportedly known to be a breakaway faction of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC).

In a communication to the Houseโ€™s Plenary, the NCCL noted that the intent of the prayer is to battle and defeat COVID-19 through spiritual interventions.

Following the reading of the communication overwhelmingly endorsed the proposal for a day of prayer on behalf of the nation at Capitol Hill.

NCCL believes that in such a difficult time it is only the interventions of God almighty that Liberia can defeat the deadly Covid-19.

The group further added that, as national Leaders, is also necessary for Lawmakers join other Liberians to have a spiritual encounter with God on behalf of the Country.

Like other Countries around the world Liberia continue to register an increase in the cases of Coronavirus.

As of May 25, 2020 the Country has a total confirmed case of 266, with 96 high risk cases, 26 deaths and a total of 144 recoveries.
